Automatically trim URLs

We use URL fields in our forms.

Sometimes users paste in a URL with extra spaces or other whitespace characters e.g.
​ community.miniextensions.com
instead of
community.miniextensions.com

It would be helpful for URLs to automatically have whitespace trimmed in inputs, at least where the user clicks off the input and the trimmed content would be a valid URL.
