Dear miniExtensions Community,
We are excited to announce a brand new set of updates to our platform! This release is mainly focused on behind-the-scenes improvements as well as bug fixes, but we are also including a couple of smaller, but useful features! You can find a list of changes listed below.
If you’re using one of our GPT automations, please have a look at the deprecation notice below since we are removing some superfluous automations at the end of the year!
We have tested this release extensively and are expecting a smooth rollout. However, if you do run into any issues, especially serious ones that need to be fixed urgently, please let us know through the chat icon in the bottom right corner to receive help as quickly as possible!

Of course we are still working on fixes for any previously reported issues that haven’t made it into this release. Please bear with us as we squash those bugs as well!

We are deprecating some of our GPT automations. These are all cases where our ChatGPT’s Model on Airtable automation can perform the exact same task by simply providing an appropriate prompt. Therefore, no functionality will be lost and clutter will be significantly reduced. In the past, users were often confused by the different, pre-configured options we provided, which is why we’re taking this step now. Existing automations will continue to work until December 31st 2024, after which they will be removed. Please replace your affected automations with the ChatGPT’s Model on Airtable automation. Feel free to reach out to us through the chat if you have any questions about this. We’d be happy to help!

You can now select a custom model in the ChatGPT’s Model on Airtable automation. This allows for much more flexibility in the model you choose, since you can simply pick any model that is available for your OpenAI API key. Please just keep in mind that you need to use the exact model name string from this page (i.e. “gpt-4o-mini” instead of “GPT-4o mini”)

We have moved some toggles from the portal/shared view tables’ layout section to their own “user actions” section. This will now house all toggles related to what the end user is allowed to do on your portal or shared view (e.g. sort, filter, download as CSV, etc).

We’ve made some general performance improvements to the dashboard.

Collaborators logged into their miniExtensions accounts will now see our blue chat widget in the bottom right corner on extensions (forms, portals and shared views) as well, not just the dashboard. This should make it even more convenient for you to reach out to our support team! Please rest assured that the widget does not show for your end users.
