Release October 24, 2024

Dear miniExtensions Community,

We are excited to announce a brand new set of updates to our platform! This release includes a new form setting to prefill new records without using the URL (another much requested feature!), conditional portal menu items and several smaller changes! You can find a list of changes listed below.

We have tested this release extensively and are expecting a smooth rollout. However, if you do run into any issues, especially serious ones that need to be fixed urgently, please let us know through the chat icon in the bottom right corner to receive help as quickly as possible!

If you have any questions, would like to discuss this release or provide feedback, please feel free to do so below.

Of course we are still working on fixes for any previously reported issues that haven’t made it into this release. Please bear with us as we squash those bugs as well!

Changelog
  • You can now prefill new records without using the URL! This was previously only available for child forms but is now available for standalone forms as well. This can be super useful when prefilling read-only or hidden fields for example when you don’t want to show the prefilled value in the URL (where it could be changed by the user). Note: for read-only fields to be prefilled in this way, you still need to turn on “allow URL prefills” for those fields, as the field will otherwise not accept the prefill.

  • You can now add conditions to show certain menu items only to specific types of users!

  • We have merged the portal’s user profile and logout buttons into one. If both buttons are enabled, this will now show a menu.

  • We have added categories to the “create” page to make it easier to find relevant extensions and automations.

  • Login forms are now created using a separate shortcut on the “create” page.

  • We’ve added a “conditional” indicator for portal tables and menu items to make it easy to identify which ones are shown conditionally.

  • The form now features slightly more padding all around its elements.

  • We have renamed our GPT automations to better reflect what they do.
