It would be nice if we had an option for the record finder to function as a drop-down. In my forms specifically, I have quite a few linked fields with a small set of options for each. We loved the behavior of the “old” forms as it felt more intuitive when selecting these records.
A farther-reaching idea would be to allow displaying these records as a list or gallery, when the record count is less than a certain number. This would make the user experience very intuitive for selecting options visually (with a thumbnail shown). Use case is shown below:
