We are excited to announce that we have added a new feature that allows you to use dynamic links for Menu Items. If you would like to learn more about this feature and how to use it, please refer to the following article: How to add a custom menu in the portal header?.

I am already using 5 Static URLs as Custom Menus. I experimented with this new feature, but when I selected one of my Fields from my Users Table, the menu item disappeared from the header.
I tried another field and got an error message: “Extension not found! Double check that the ID in the URL is correct.”
I was playing with this as to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what it would do and how I could use it differently to the static URLs I’m already using. @MoyersBell seemed very excited by it LOL.
Ha–forgive the excessive fangirling but it really did make a huge impact. If you’re interested…I can write a longer explanation (but I definitely understand NOT being interested in it LOL) but basically I have various dynamic URLs that I can pull together in a single conditional formula field in Airtable and add THAT field as the portal menu item. Something in the past that has required a lot of tedious and kludgy workarounds that now can be accomplished with a single formula field and this new feature. It sort of seems like magic!
